Zerureusu is part of the Flying Wyvern class and is close relative of Rathalos and Rathian. It may also be a close relative of the Unknown.
Habitat Range[]
Zerureusu have only been seen in living on the Tower but only when light shines in the area.
Ecological Niche[]
Like its relatives, Zerureusu is a powerful aerial predator. Common prey for this wyvern consists of Aptonoth, other herbivores, and smaller predators like Giaprey. Due to living amongst the Tower the Zerureusu competes with multiple large predators. Said predators include the Espinas Subspecies, Molten Tigrex, Mi Ru, Aruganosu/Goruganosu, Lucent Nargacuga, and some Elder Dragons.
Biological Adaptations[]
Zerureusu share a similar body to other Rath species but are different from them in some ways. Zerureusu have been found to have fluids in their body much like the other Raths but the fluids are different from them. Once these fluids are exposed to air, they will form large crystals on these wyverns bodies. These crystals are commonly found to appear on their legs, wings, head, and tail. Unlike the other Raths, Zerureusu controls a different element known as "Light". This element is believed to be made of the body fluids found inside Zerureusu along with solar energy gathered from the sun. Unlike other Raths, Zeruresusu is capable of hollowing through rock with its head spikes. Its claws aren't used much like other Raths but its claws are strong enough to cut through solid rock while its tail is covered in crystals and used much like a sword. Similar to Shantien, its capable of high speed flying when the crystals appear on its wings.
Behavior[]
Zerureusu are highly territorial and will not tolerate intruders. It will attack enemies by swooping down from the sky using the bizarre "Light" element along with its talons and mace-like tail.
