Your question on Pink's page Edit

I saw you were wondering what initial defense and final defense mean. Initial defense means the total amount of defense points the armor gets off the bat (i.e. if each piece has 20 defense then the total is 100 initial defense with the whole set). Final defense is the same deal only the total defense the armor gets when it is maxed out (i.e. If each piece gets 60 defense maxed out then your final defense is 300 total). ^This is correct, although I'm not sure whether it has been entirely resolved whether the final defense is the maximum defense before or after fighting Ukanlos (after you defeat Ukanlos, you gain the ability to upgrade armours more).

As for the Armor Stats paragraph, I don't think it's entirely necessary to have anything written there, as the following sub-sections are included within it. Maybe just one or two sentences summarising the armour.

I have a request for you, if it is not to much of a problem please unlock the monster carve guide. Its old, not up to date. The style is horrendous and the writing is terrible as well. While wikia does not have the same standart as wikipedia. It still should strife to look good and complete. Now the page just looks like an ego trip by someone that could translate a japanese guide. ((Which it seems he did not even himself)) The copyright thing needs to go to as it is invalid.

Minion Video Pages Edit

To be honest, I feel we should only have a video page for a minion if there are enough videos to merit it. I only created the Velociprey one because I found out they had an intro; there'd be no point creating a Ioprey videos page, for example. On the other hand, a Jaggi Videos page might be alright because there are quests involving them and an actual intro. It's a balancing act, although obviously changing the template to include a link to videos should only be done if the videos page actually exists, lol.
Btw, if you feel the need to do more video pages, octaneblue2 and GSD993 from Youtube have the best quality intro/ecology videos. For gameplay I just try to find some from as many games as possible, and always try to include a video of the HC version if it exists in Frontier.

Hi there SethOmega. I've been trying to figure out the best way to categorize the Pelagus and Fanged Beasts, you probably saw my edits on the Monster Types page.

Recently the localiztion director for 3U posted a blog: http://www.capcom-unity.com/reno/blog/2012/12/21/monster-hunter-3-ultimate---localization-notes-part-1

I asked him (you can see my question in the comment sections if you look around enough) about why Arzuros, Lagombi, Volvidon and Bullfango were listed as "Fanged Beasts" instead of Pelagus, and he gave me this response:

"If the Pelagus monsters ever come back to the series, they'll most likely be reclassified as Fanged Beasts since they're the same classification as Arzuros in Japanese. Don't take my word for it though! It's just speculation at this point.

The reason for the change is because while doing research for monster names during Ultimate we realized something about the Pelagus classification and sought to make it better rather than just sticking to old legacy terms simply because they were commonly known." - Andrew, Localization Project Director/Manager

So, yeah... with that said, it seems Pelagus is a term they kind of want to phase out eventually... but right now, the only truly confirmed Fanged Beasts are the ones I mentioned above, although if Bullfango is considered such... I would assume that counts for Bulldrome as well, despite how he was excluded from Ultimate.

My original edit of the Monster Types page had a separate category for Fanged Beasts... but Democide and Lord Loss liked the idea of having Pelagus / Fanged Beasts together, since they're more or less two names for the same group of monsters... so I changed it to that format on the page. I don't think it's perfect.... hell, it's kind of complicated really, but it's the best I could think of.

Any thoughts? Just thought I'd get you up to date on this little matter.

"The Pelagus type is just for the monkey-like monsters. The bear-like ones are all Fanged Beasts and the Zinogre is a one-of-a-kind Fanged Wyvern. This is all going by the in-game descriptions, btw."

I think the best bet is to leave it how it is currently with the Fanged Beast area attached to the Pelagus until we actually see these 'in-game descriptions'.
