I have been the kind of guy to just go hunt and not bother with the specifics.
I made this a blog because I know I'll make a mistake somewhere.

Just gathering some thoughts together.

In P3rd, they show the weapons true value this time around.

This first table is showing how much raw damage a weapon does based upon the sharpness of the weapon.
White Sharpness is only obtainable via Sharpness +1.
So this shows the benefits of Sharpness +1 also.(aside from trying to be a weapon thingy)

(Also, no idea if anyone has done this before. I haven't looked around before doing this.)

RAW * Sharpness
.5 .75 1 1.05 1.2 1.32
Raw * * * * * *
100 50 75 100 105 120 132
150 75 112.5 150 157.5 180 198
200 100 150 200 210 240 264
250 125 187.5 250 262.5 300 330
300 150 225 300 315 360 396
350 175 262.5 350 367.5 420 462

RAW Increase per Sharpness Level
RAW Red To Orange Orange To Yellow Yellow To Green Green To Blue Blue To White
100 +25 +25 +5 +15 +12

200 +50 +50 +10 +30 +24

300 +75 +75 +15 +45 +36
350 +87.5 +87.5 +17.5 +52.5 +42

The table below contain the values from above, just in percentages.

RAW % Increase per Sharpness Level
RAW Red To Orange Orange To Yellow Yellow To Green Green To Blue Blue To White
100 Increases 50% Increases 33.33% Increases 5% Increases 14.29%* Increases 10%
150 Increases 50% Increases 33.33% Increases 5% Increases 14.29%* Increases 10%

350 Increases 50% Increases 33.33% Increases 5% Increases 14.29%* Increases 10%

*14.28571429 is what my calculator displayed.

Red and Orange sharpness' are obviously a negative 50% and a negative 33.33% influence respectively.

I'm only going to do elements, no status effects yet.
As in: Para weapons, Poison weapons and Sleep weapons will not be included in this.

I'm not sure how monster's elemental weaknesses in each spot affects the elements damage but once I do figure it out, I'll make a table for it.

(E)lement * Sharpness
.25 .5 .75 1 1.0625 1.125
(E) * * * * * *
5 1.25 2.5 3.75 5 5.3125 5.625
10 2.5 5 7.5 10 10.625 11.25
15 3.75 7.5 11.25 15 15.9375 16.875
20 5 10 15 20 21.25 22.5
25 6.25 12.5 18.75 25 26.5625 28.125
30 7.5 15 22.5 30 31.875 33.75
35 8.75 17.5 26.25 35 37.1875 29.375
40 10 20 30 40 42.5 45
45 11.25 22.5 33.75 45 47.8125 50.625
50 12.5 25 37.5 50 53.125 56.25

What this says off the bat is that:
1)Anything below green is negative, yet green is neutral.
2)Only blue and white sharpness increase elemental attack positively.

(E)lement Increase per Sharpness Level
(E) Red To Orange Orange To Yellow Yellow To Green Green To Blue Blue To White
5 +1.25 +1.25 +1.25 +.3125 +.3125
10 +2.5 +2.5 +2.5 +.625 +.625

20 +5 +5 +5 +1.25 +1.25
25 +6.25 +6.25 +6.25 +1.5625 +1.5625
30 +7.5 +7.5 +7.5 +1.875 +1.875

40 +10 +10 +10 +2.5 +2.5

50 +12.5 +12.5 +12.5 +3.125 +3.125

Again, sharpness' below green are of the negative influence.

30 Increases 25% Increases 25% Increases 25% Increases 6.25% Increases 6.25%

50 Increases 25% Increases 25% Increases 25% Increases 6.25% Increases 6.25%

Pretty much, elemental damage decreases by 25% (a quarter, 1/4th) per sharpness level it goes below green.

One of my favorite skills is Speed Sharpening. You only do like a swipe and a half when you usually do 4 swipes without it.
Especially with weapons like DS and GL, being able to maintain constant blue and white sharpness is really nice.
Personally, the moment I drop to green sharpness, I'm looking to use a whet.
With Speed Sharpening, you're back in action with white sharpness before you know it.

Next, I'm going to compare weapons.
Most likely break down the gunlance tree and the bow tree, because I can use those two the most right now.
