Hello, and welcome to Monster Appreciation Week!
This week we look at the legendary unicorn-like dragon, Kirin!
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
Elder dragons so rarely sighted that little is known of their ecology, though everyone knows of the high prices Kirin parts fetch. It's been said they are one with lightning itself, and that their bodies becomes clothed in pure electricity when they are provoked.
At a time Kirin's class was ???/Unclassified, just like Gore Magala, but Kirin was put into the Elder Dragon Class after some research of it.
Its ecology is almost a complete mystery from how elusive it is.
Kirin are unpredictable and so its best to avoid them. That's why their sometimes called the "Phantom Brute".
Kirin have the electrical powers to destroy villages. This is suggested by one village that was supposedly attacked by an enraged Kirin.
Kirin high metabolism might play a role in its electrical summoning.
Its skin is pretty hard and its said that its hide can deflect most attacks.
Their horns are extremely vital to their life, even to the largest Kirin, though even if they lose their horn they can still summon lightning, at least in MH4.
Kirin hairs actually pick up electricity and its real color is white. Hunters can't really tell from its glowing body. When enough electrical currents are picked up, Kirin will glow brighter in Rage Mode.
Kirin's mane is described to be like a battery.
From the discovery of the HC Kirin, the Guild are starting to learn more about Kirin.
Kirin has one known natural predator, Rajang.
In legend, there is a Kirin known as Laokirin that was as powerful as a Lao-Shan Lung.
This is usually what a pair of Kirin is called by the Guild.
