This week we look at the Subspecies of the Flagship Monsters!
Azure Rathalos[]
Lets start off the first Subspecies of a Flagship Monster, Azure Rathalos! Now back in the day for the first generation, Azure Rathalos was basically a stronger Rathalos that flies a bit more, but then the third and fourth generation came along... Dear god, Azure Rathalos became a demon in those games! Oh yeah, he is a genetic mutation!
Brute Tigrex[]
Oh, I remember the reaction people had when Brute Tigrex was first revealed! Most people were super excited that Tigrex had finally got a Subspecies, while others just screamed in pure terror. You know what, I love Brute Tigrex! It is just such a badass monster with all of its roars and stomping around. What else could make Tigrex better?
Green Nargacuga[]
Wait? This is the third most popular Subspecies of a Flagship Monster in the series for Japan?! Is this a joke or something else? Anyway, I do like Green Nargacuga, but it just doesn't do enough for me... I feel it should have extra attacks other than a Double Tail Slam and spikes that stun hunters. Maybe Capcom could further improve it in the future?
Ivory Lagiacrus[]
When MH3G was coming to the 3DS, there was a bunch of reasons why I wanted to get my hands on the game. Ivory Lagiacrus, and a particular monster under it, were my main reasons for importing a Japanese 3DS and MH3G! Oh boy, Ivory Lagiacrus I have missed you! Don't get me wrong, I like the 4th Gen Lagiacrus, but it got most of its attacks and moves from good ole Ivory Lagiacrus. Hopefully, it can return in the future in some form.
Stygian Zinogre[]
This monster was one of the other reasons why I got MH3G! Though I rarely give any opinion on the Zinogre species, I will say that they have always been a favorite of mine (Heck, before Lagiacrus made a strong comeback in the 3rd Gen, Zinogre was ironically my favorite monster for a long time). Stygian Zinogre is no exception to this! I just love this hellhound! Though it can be annoying at times, especially in the 4th Gen, this monster can never stop being so badass! Those weapons, that armor, that lore, that everything! All of that just makes Stygian Zinogre a near perfect monster, to me! I only really have one bad thing to say about it... Why the hell is it so nerfed, attacks wise, compared to Frontier's normal Zinogre?!
Espinas Subspecies[]
Now onto some of Frontier's Monsters! The Espinas Subspecies is an interesting monster to say the least. Though I will likely never ever get to fight it, it is still a cool Subspecies! What makes this Espinas so unique is that it is able to charge up its attacks for massive damage and also has the deadly combination of Poison + Defense Down. Now that is scary!
Akura Jebia[]
I really can't think of any words for Akura Jebia...
Doragyurasu[]
Well, the almighty Doragyurasu! I do love Doragyurasu for a bunch of reasons, but one thing just holds this monster back, for me. The changing AI that is unique to Berukyurosu is now gone with this monster...
