[edit] Quest Info

The Cephadrome is a piscine type land shark that lurks under the desert area, you can easily distinguish it by its darker dorsal fin when compare to the Cephalos that also appears in the area, it is also larger than the Cephalos in body size. You can find Cephadrome in areas 2, 1 or 5 when you started the quest.

[edit] Luring it to the ground

Like its minions, Cephalos, Cephadrome will swim under the sand in a circular pattern and will occasionally jump out of the sand to attack. To effectively attack the Cephadrome, you will need to force it out of the sand to be able to attack it head on.

By watching its circular swimming pattern under the sand, you can position youself on the path to make the Cephadrome comes to you. Throw the sonic bomb to the Cephadrome as it is about to make his way to you will force it out of the sand and give you the opportunity to attack. The sonic bomb does not have to hit it dead-on, it will do its job as long as the bomb detonate in the close vincinity of the monster for it to be effective against the target, for begginers its advised to bring combine materials for more sonic bombs(1x Gunpowder & 1x Screamer).

The Cephadrome will only be on the ground for a certain amount of time before it submerge itself again under the sand, therefore it is vital to the battle for you to paint the monster before it submerges to provide better tracking.

[edit] Weakness & Attacks

The Cephadrome is weak against ice, therefore any weapon in the lineage of ice element such as Frost Edge will provide an advantage in the battle.

The primary attacks of the Cephadrome will be tail swipe in the clockwise direction from player's point of view, it will also turn its head to attack with its mouth if you stand too close to its head. Cephadrome is also known for its famous hip attack to the left (also from player's point of view) which deal heavy in damage, therefore always approach the monster and attack Cephadrome from your right if possible.

[edit] Tactics & Tips

The most vulnerable spot for Cephadrome is the belly area right where the neck connects to the body, this is where you want to focus your attack to deal the most damage to the monster. Attacking its belly and roll away will also provide shelter from most tail swipe attack, and it is also the prefer area for most player when solo Cephadrome. The dorsal fin is also breakable. (Optional: As the Cephadrome jumps out of the sand, set a Shock Trap under it to temporarily paralyze it.)

Once the Cephadrome is near death it will fold down its dorsal fin and head to area 7 for rest.

[edit] Using Shock Trap

A easy way to either capture / slain the moster will be to wait for it to go to sleep in area 7 and setup the shock trap right next to the monster. The shock trap will activate right away, paralyzing the monster without any effort. At this time you can either choose to chain your combo to finish it or you can throw the item to subdue the creature for capture.
