[edit] Shadow in the Snow

In this quest you must hunt the Khezu.

Khezu sometimes will fly to area 1 when the time counter counts down to 48:00 - 47:30. Wait in area 1 to the specified time to see if Khezu show up before start your search will save time looking for it.

Note: The Khezu can be easy or very hard to you. It all depends on you... some people (like me) kill khezus easily and take forever to kill a kut-ku.

==Hunting the Khezu==

About half of the time (after you first meet the Khezu) he will go to Area 1 at 48 minutes. Not always though. The first time it will be at Area 3, and it would probably stay until you go there.

Once he enters area 1, if you are using a bow/bowgun, you can go on the ledge and hit him from there. For all GS/LS/HH/H etc users wait. Dont go near him, he will probably use his Thundershield attack.

He does a variety of attacks. You usually should stay a little far from him to the right/left.

Read up on his attacks to know more...

==Attacks==

Thunderspit

He will shoot 3 thunderballs in front of him. Fairly easy to dodge. His neck will sort-of go up and then down, spitting the thunderballs. You should be to his left/right side, so then you can run in and hit him a few times (with LS, I can manage about 2 hits.) If its your infront, RUN/JUMP. While he is in midstage of this attack, you can heal up if your behind him/off to the side. This attack will paralyze you if hit.

Thundershield

A thunder aura will surround him, so you cant go that near him. This attack is hard to dodge, but with luck and timing it can be done easily. You must wait if your a melee weapon user. This is NOT his thunderjump!!! All you can do when you are near him is hope you can roll with X away in time, or if in midhit, that your hit will cause him to stop (SOmetimes, if you hit his tail your hit will stop the shield and you will not be injured.

Jump

He will jump a short distance away.

Thunderjump (RAGE MODE ONLY)

This happens when hes lower on HP, he will jump but with thunder surrounding him. This shouldnt be a problem if your not infront of him.

Sound

A common wyvern move, he will do a annoying sound causing you to hold your ears for a few seconds.

Khezu Annoying Combo

This happens to me a little, usually when I happen to be infront of him. He will do his sound attack, keeping me there, do a thunderspit-thing attack, then a thunder jump, finishing me off. If this happens to you a LOT, then keep practicing!

[edit] Problems?

Q. He keeps killing me in one-two hits!!!

A. Try being more careful. Only attack when you know for sure that hes doing his thunderball attack, and DO NOT ever, if you can help it, be infront of him. Or get a new weapon. You should be able to get good weapons by now.

Q. He STILL keeps killing me in two-three hits!!!

A. How long do you last? If you last under 4 minutes of constant attacks, then keep practicing and aim for the neck. Over ten minutes, and you should be able to do it by now. Keep trying.

Q. I swear, he had like 10 hp left and he killed me!!!

A. Try capturing him instead.

Q.how do you kill the khezu with kut ku stave1 ???.

A. go into demonization mode and be careful when you attack. learn his moveset so you no when to attack, heal, block etc.

Q.It keeps going in area 7, 8, 9 when I went to area 3.

A. go to those area first and wait a while presuming you have a good enough weapon you shoudln't have to worry about the time limit. i killed my first Khezu in just under 25 minutes using bone katana shark.

Q.how do you know when he is in rage mode??.

A. He has white (i think) froth in his mouth like most other monsters

[edit] Dizzy's Two Cents

I would recommend armor that provides High Grade Ear Plugs, for ex: Garuga armor, Hornetaur armor, etc easiest would be the latter. Up it's defense, or be skilled enough to evade his atacks (super easy) and use any fire based weapons that provide a fair range, like hunting horns for ex: Basarios Rock, Basarios Rock MkII, etc. In this case, at a certain range, you can still inflict damage, even with his thunder shield on. Or take a good fire hunting bow like the Prominence Bow I and so on. Me? I use the full Hornetaur setup, no skills, and a Prominence Bow II for both regular and high rank Khezu. With Red Khezu, switch the weapon to an Ice, or Water based weapon instead, his attacks are the same to evade, except his neck swing. I(nacnud)use saber and either full kirin or full velociprey(s) There, my two cents.
