Rhenoplos are herbivores first appearing in Monster Hunter Tri. Similar to the previous Bullfango, the Rhenoplos are highly aggressive and tend to charge any hunters they may hear, as their vision is lacking.
Rhenoplos is a favorite prey for Agnaktor at the Volcano but is also popular as food in the Sandy Plains, where the Sand Barioth and Nibelsnarf prey on it. Like the Apceros, their eggs are highly prized by Hunters. If a Rhenoplos runs into a pillar, it will be stunned for a few seconds.
Extremely territorial herbivores with poor vision but acute hearing. Rhenoplos will doggedly pursue any nearby targets they sense. They often collide into boulders, perhaps because they can't easily stop themselves once they begin running.

Unlike most minions, an entire armor set can be crafted from Rhenoplos' materials.
During the MH3 quest "Best the Lava Beasts" if a hunter runs past the 2 Rhenoplos and 4 Lynians in Area 8 without catching their attention, and Cha-Cha catches their attention, they will prepare an attack. If Cha-Cha then digs underground to teleport to the Hunter, the Rhenoplos will turn and do a charge attack targeting one of the Lynians. It is unknown why it does this.
Rhenoplos are extremely territorial they will charge at hunters they sense with persistence.
