Slots & Description
This armor is made mostly from Azure Rathalos materials and fire wyverns' parts in general. The Azur Rthlos Wing can be obtained more easily by breaking the parts of, and then capturing an Azure Rathalos from the Elder's 6-star quests.
Rathalos Soul Armor is considered to be one of the best low-rank armor sets, particularly because of the skills it allows. It gives elemental resistance to Fire and Thunder, no resistance to Ice and weaknesses to Water and Dragon. It gives a nice, natural bonus to your Attack, which can be increased even further. It also comes with Earplug, which can easily be upgraded to High Grade Earplug, and a latent Expert skill. It is a good all-around set and can be used up until even High Rank, but be careful with those Dragon attacks!

Gemming this set, at least at first, is all about choices. You could put in 3 Earplug Jewels to bring out a High Grade Earplug. You could also put in 5 Expert Jewels or 2 Expert Jewels and a Celebrity Jewel to activate Reckless Abandon +1. Finally, you could put in 5 Attack Jewels or 2 Attack Jewels and a Fierce Jewel to get yourself an Attack Up (Large). However, you only have 7 slots to play with, so you will have to either gem it according to the challenge you have ahead of you or get a weapon with slots in it. With a 3-slot weapon, for example, you could activate ALL those skills with either a Strongest Jewel or a Hermit Jewel in it.
- Rathalos Soul Armor, along with Devil Slicer/True Devil Slicer, can be considered general-purpose hunting equipment.
