[edit] Elemental Information
The Pink Rathian takes a lot of damage from the thunder and Dragon elements.
The Rathian herself attacks with the fire element.
[edit] Behaviour
The Rathian Tends to charge at you, after a few charges usually follows a fireball. Most of the time after 2-4 charges. The fireball attack is indicated with the Rathian turning very slowly, the amount of fireballs spit is indicated by an inner noise the rathian makes. The Rathian prefers staying on the ground, unlike rathalos who is more for aerial combat.
The Rathian will do a backflip sometimes and this is indicated by the rathian taking 1-2 steps backwards, and then a summersault follows.
The Rathian can follow you when charging, meaning that if you run to the sides she'll follow you instead of just a straight charge, this usually results in her doing multiple charges before finally falling.
When near death she'll limp and sleep in area 7 (jungle) and area 5 (forest & hills).

[edit] Hunting Strategies
[edit] Hammers
Well this strategy is a bit more for experienced people with hammers (Not totally seasoned or else you wouldn't need this guide). In this guide, I will tell you her openings and best opportunities to attack her. And remember, ALWAYS GO FOR THE HEAD! And always roll to her the side of her (not into her or in front of her) after you attack her head.
Tail whip: Do a half charge if you see her starting it and run it when she's half way through it. Its kinda situational to see if you'll make it to her head or not (like how far or where she started her tail whip), So try to rush in when her tail is facing you and go for the head.
Tail Back Flip: She kinda staggers a little with her right leg to prep it. That's the best time to start charging when you see this. Make sure you are on one of her sides completely while doing this, because her back flip actually has a little bit of homing in front of her, basically if she can see you with her head, she will most likely hit you. Do a super pound as soon as she lands. This is one the moves you look out for the most for super pound (full charge), especially when she's in rage.
Fireball: Another super pound opportunity, but only when she's calm! She'll do 1 fireball or multiple and multiple is a bit longer, so you'll have time to recover. If she's in rage and she does this attack, just do a half charge for 2 hits and get the heck out of there. Sometimes after the fireball, she charges right on to you if you are right in front of her in rage mode.
Charge: Just stay away unless your weapon is already sheathed and follow her. You can probably get a charge in while she's turning around. If you're too far and she's turning around. Do a upswing (Triangle while running and sheathed) and roll out of the way. Don't do anything if she does this in rage mode just for safety, But if you are feeling bold, go for it.
Bite: Psh, this attack is NOTHING; although she does charge at you and then bite instead of tumbling. In this case, its just slightly more riskier to attack her because she recovers faster then expected and may tail whip you. Just keep on the look out if she's tumbling or not, its that simple. For normal bites, you may get one side swing in and roll out of the way.
Roar: Its tricky, but if you are far away enough (assuming you don't have earplugs) you can rush in and hit her in the head with and upswing and roll away. I haven't gotten away with much more than that, so if you have, please edit this. If you have earplugs then by all means hit her as much as you can and get out of there.
"Hit-Me-Now": Hit-Me-Nows are when monsters kinda do nothing as if you aren't there and allows you for free hits. Sometimes they do a really light roar/purr kind of thing and just stands there for a few seconds. Sometimes this is an indication that they are dying. You can whatever you feel like it at this moment, but I usually do about 2 half charges to the face.
Low Flying Retreat: She retreats from you by flying backwards. Normally she does one of 2 things after this: Fireballs or charge attack. If she's too far just run out of the way and follow the Fireball and Charge portions of the guide.
General Strategy: Basically you want to be charging all the time when you're running around and dodging when you need to be. For hammer users, you should always try to keep power juice on so it will be a super easy fight for you. Just keep running around and look for the mentioned openings and I can almost guarantee you won't be hit at all (Or die) if you are precise. Just practice and bring good hammers and you should be able to beat her in 15 minutes or less.
Note: This strategy doesn't need traps, flashes, or anything like that to win. Just use your head and attack during the opportunities and you will see how easy she is :).
