Green Plesioth is a subspecies of Plesioth. Green Plesioth are very similar to the Plesioth in terms of behavior and attacks, yet they differ in color and aggression.

[edit] Facts

  • Green Plesioths are large Piscine Wyverns commonly found in Jungles and Desert caves.
  • The Green Plesioths have shiny green and orange scales and have a body structure similar to sharks.
  • They are most seen in the water, but have adapted legs for hunting. When they're weak, the Plesioths' top fin flattens against their back and their head).
  • Green Plesioths have a grand taste for frogs; fishing with one can lure them in so they can get pulled out of the water (doing 100 HP damage to any Plesioth of any rank).
  • Another way to get them out of the water is to throw a Sonic Bomb over them, although it doesn't always work and it will enrage the Plesioth.
  • Green Plesioths have a Water Stream attack, that although predictable, does great damage if it strikes the hunter.
  • They are surprisingly fast, especially when running back to the water, which can also do serious damage to the hunter.
  • Like some of the other monsters, they have a hipcheck attack, which hits a large area. Because of its size and relative speed, this hipcheck is not only hard to avoid for Blademasters, but does a considerable amount of damage. Both Green and normal Plesioth seem to use this attack a lot more than other hipcheckers, and will sometimes use it three times in a row to knock out any hunter near it.
  • Green Plesioth are weakest to Thunder, closely followed by Fire.
  • Their most sensitive areas are its spine (Gunning) and Belly (Melee), although the neck is also quite weak.
  • When it is in the water, it will often dive deep, then come back up to spray water in a long ranged straight line, or sweep a somewhat shorter area.
    • Stand near a Green Plesioth, to a side, when it comes up. No matter what, the water will not hit you if you are not standing right in front of it (the straight stream will hit players that stand still when it turns to you). This tactic can also be used in a fight with normal Plesioth; however, in order for it to work, the Plesioth must be exceptionally large.
  • They can stand near-vertically and shoot a stream of water in an arc like Plesioth. It is very easy to avoid it if you're close but Gunners will have problems if they stand further away while Green Plesioth does this.
    • This attack leaves its belly open for attack for a short amount of time.

[edit] Trivia

  • Upon close examination of a Plesioth, you can see a strange blue aura pulse over its skin which can be found on both the normal and Green subspecies. This is water, released from the skin of the Plesioth to keep its scales wet whilst on land. This continues even after death.
