In-Game Information
Edit
A subspecies of Gigginox that uses electricity to stun prey. It is believed to be a random mutation, and as such, sightings are relatively rare. It may be possible to weaken its electrical powers by destroying the capacitor organs on its body.
Taxonomy
Edit
Order:Saurischia- Suborder:Dragon Feet- Infraorder:Strange Wyvern- Superfamily:Poison Strange Wyvern- Family:Nox. Baleful Gigginox have a colouring of Golden-green, which matches its element of Thunder. Its mutation may be a gene from its ancestors awakened much like its relative the Khezus thunder ability.
Habitat Range
Edit
Like normal Gigginox, the Baleful Gigginox lives mainly in the freezing caves of the Tundra.
Ecological Niche
Edit
The Baleful Gigginox are carnivorous and hunt for food in order to survive. It preys on Bullfango and Anteka, and if food is scarce it may prey on Baggi and Popo. Due to the lack of any natural armor, it may not be able to prey on larger, stronger monsters. However, if a large monster was weak, young or elderly, it may take advantage of the situation and attack it.Tigrex, Deviljho, Barioth, Great Baggi, Glacial Agnaktor, Stygian Zinogre, and Brachydios consist of the fierce competition these Gigginox must contend with. Despite competing with such formidable competition these wyverns are far from defenseless as their electrical attacks are powerful enough to stun a Barioth.
Biological Adaptations
Edit
The Baleful Gigginox has mutated and grew electric sacs in place of its original poison sacs.
The Baleful Gigginox does not have the reproductive abilities of its counterpart and is unable to lay vast amounts of eggs.
Behavior
Edit
Baleful Gigginox are highly aggressive and territorial. These wyverns will not tolerate smaller predators such as Great Baggi and Baggi near their lairs and will kill with extreme prejudice. Hunters must be wary when fighting these Gigginox as when provoked into battle they can kill with relative ease. These wyverns are particularly dangerous to travelers and hunters as they have no qualms of eating human beings.
