Giaprey are a rare albino subspecies of the Velociprey. Although rarely seen in forests, they are quite common in the Snowy Mountains. They have crystaline blue scales with sky blue stripes. Although they are of a different species, White Velociprey have been seen in packs of Velociprey. Like all of the '-prey' family, this sub-specie also fights in a pack, often alongside their leader the Giadrome. They are a little stronger, physically and defensively, than the average Velociprey, and are noticeably tougher than their counterpart in battle. They also have an added ability to spit ice to attack hunters, and being able to freeze a hunter like Blangonga. Although stronger, they still have about the same accuracy. Sometimes when killed in mid-air or by specific attacks they, like all '-prey', may be divided into multiple pieces leaving nothing to carve.

[edit] Trivia

  • It was originally called the White Velociprey and was put into Monster Hunter Freedom for the sole purpose of being an albino version of the Velociprey species, but were later given the name Giaprey, assigned a boss known as the Giadrome and the ice element.
  • In Gathering Quest at Elder 2*, if you slay all Giaprey in Area 3, then go out to Area 2, you'll see them occupying this area.
