Genprey are a Raptor species that inhabit swamps and deserts. They possess a colorful yellow and green hide and a yellow crest. Like all the carnivorous preys, these hunters travel in packs. Genprey are the second strongest of the prey subspecies. They are very similar to that of Velocipreys and Iopreys, basically the same move, but of course with paralasis abilities.

Their fangs contain a neurotoxin that cause Paralysis. Living through the harsh terrain of the deserts, evolution has made them tougher than the Velociprey. They are also more accurate in attacks, and can inflict more damage.

They have a larger leader known as the Gendrome.

These minions first appeared in Monster Hunter.

They may pose a large problem in High Rank or G rank boss fights since their paralysis can leave you defenseless for quite a while. There are ways to counteract paralasis state; using armours such as Yama Tsukami armour for taking G rank quests, which harbours the ability, Paralasis Duration Halved, giving you the upper hand in recovering. Being paralysed is an annoying thing to happen, so try your best to avoid getting paralysed, and remember it is always best to kill Genpreys first, before taking on the monster you are slaying.

Sometimes when killed in mid-air or by specific attacks they, like all '-prey', may be divided into multiple pieces leaving nothing to carve.
