Refering back to being able to cook fish and eat them out on the field, and obtaining a bonus affect from that. I was given the idea of there being fish that you could grind with your weapon to give your attacks more of a punch. My first idea was that what if you could combine sleepy fish with knife mackral to make the sleepy mackral so you could add sleep effect to your weapon for a limited time? I was also thinking how would people know if the sleepy mackral was still in affect? I also thought it could be a visual appearence on the blade. For when you used the sleepy mackral there would be this light blue gas coming off the blade, the same for any of the other affects. Please comment and tell me what you think, all ideas are welcome. I have seen many "add a custom bonus effect or element power to a weapon" ideas, and this is what I say to all of them: THEY HAVE THEIR CURRENT ELEMENT OR STATUS VALUES OR LACK THEREOF FOR A REASON. The developers intentionally gave the weapons and armors the stats they have for balance purposes. Having boost up skills and slots is nice, but give too much control of a weapons stats to the player and you're bound to get an unbalanced, overpowered mess. Granted, some players would make sensible decisions in the changes they make, but too many won't. As for the concept of a blade-boosting fish, I always found it odd that I never got the "sharpness up" boost, even though it was mentioned in the manual, until I learned thaat you got it from Demon Shot II. I think having a + rank equivalent of a whetfish, or some other combo involving a whetfish or whetstone and some other Hi-rank material that gave the temporary sharpness boost would be cool. I think they have this in frontier, there is a whetstone icon, and instead of a rock, its like a crystal. Maybe these can be supply items in very tough quests againest monster like rajang or white fata. They just won't be "fishy" though.68.28.41.229 02:18, February 22, 2011 (UTC) Rindoroki, be stern, cobalt, be stern...
