I've been thinking about this for a while now, and I thought this would be a good idea for a new weapon. The GunBlade would be between a Great Sword and Long Sword in terms of speed and power. You don't switch modes with this weapon, but you do have shelling just like the Gunlance. Now, as this weapon would seem overpowered, you have only 3 shellings per reload, and each shell has half the power of a Gunlance's shells. I also think that the gun would eventually overheat due to overuse. Think of the overheating as a bar under your sharpness icon that increases with every shot, and when you fill this bar, your last three shells will shoot minor explosions equal to that of a small barrel bomb. After this, however, your shelling can't be used for a 2 minute period. Of course, you would have a skill or item to shorten cooldown, but this is the basic gist of what I'm tryimg to say.

...eh. GL made sense because you pretty much had a giant rifle with a bayonet and shield, so aiming and firing shells kinda came naturally, but trying to aim with a GS seems like it would be too hard to be useful.
