Gemstone Bonding permanently with armor

If you have armor you have built up from basic armor level 1 all the way to maxed out + versions if you have always had one decoration bonded to the armor through every upgrade. They should bond to the armor and free up the decoration slots on the armor again.
Say you have hunters greaves that you have had a vitality jewel attached to from the beginning of the game and you have just upgraded it to max level. The vitality Jewel should be absorbed into the armor so you still get the bonus and the slot should become free to attach another jewel.
But only if the jewel was attached before your first upgrade and never removed.
It's probably a lame idea but i figured I would just throw it out there.
Armors don't upgrade like weapons do. Upgrading armor just means adding an extra point or two to its DEF. Also, you don't upgrade to + armor, you have to forge it anew. Upgrading armor to that level doesn't make it +; it's still the low-rank armor, just with higher rarity and armor pigment ability. In short, this wouldn't work with the way armor upgrading works.
