why is the switch axe the only weapon type without an ancientshard or rustshard creation?

its a new creation its not old like a sns gs ls h ect and the crystal should do any ways-Ifrit

LS has rustshard creation? I did some digging on this wiki and gamefaqs, but did not see a rusted long sword. Please correct me if I'm wrong. But it's always been like that, SnS, GS, Hammer, Lance, and (Light)Bowgun have rust and ancient weapons; DS, LS, HH, GL, (Heavy Bowgun) and Bow did not have one. Switch Axe got the same treatment. -linthuslyth

sorry my mistake the LS doesn't have a rusted creation. i got too much into just naming the old weapons.

According to MH Lore, the LS and SA are new creations. Hence, no Rust/Ancient shards. BizzarreCoyote 16:00, August 13, 2010 (UTC)

There's an ancient medium bowgun in mh3 (and it's awesome)

ok first the LS isn't a new creation its been out for every monster hunter, and there is also an ancient heavy bowgun for mh3. i got it from facing alatreon in my reward box.

Protip newbie: LS didn't come around until MH2. Don't say it's been in every MH, cause it hasn't. Also, the Aquamatic Longshot is only considered a Medium Bowgun due to the way the game handles bowguns by weight. It would be a HBG in Unite/F2/F1/MH1/MH2 BizzarreCoyote 16:52, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

He has a point. But although it hasn't been in every Monster Hunter, doesn't mean it's a new addition. Besides, I think the Rusted/Ancient Stone turns into a Great sword which can be upgraded into a LS. So, technically, there are Rusted LS. In any case, the SwitchAxe is a brand new release, and because of this, they probably didn't want to give it some extra credit by making it a Rusted/Ancient Weapon. I beg to differ on the Aquamatic Longshot. It rapidfires and has no shield, which puts it closer to the Light category in previous games. A heavy one would more like Vulcannon.

The Ls was kinda in the first Mh, It just acted like a gs. Also, they could make up some story about discovering a rusted switch axe. Most rusted/ancient weapons look more advanced than regular weapons.

i have gotten a rough edge from a rust shard so wtf....i mean how is it possible if its a new creation in the mh world?
