"Forests" are wooded areas with high levels of vegetation. Forests are known for having very mild and favorable weather. Forests come in different varieties, including hilly, great, and flooded.

EcosystemEdit

Inhabitants of the Forest and Hills area include Velociprey, Velocidrome, Kelbi, Mosswine, Bullfango, and the herbivorous Aptonoth. Aptonoth tend to roam in the open field areas, while Kelbi and Mosswine tend to root around in the more forested areas. Velociprey packs stalk both the forests and plains of this region. The forests are also a good location for Felyne and Melynx to set up a colony. The higher areas can get quite craggy, and contain small caves which are used by larger monsters as a nest.

The flooded, tropical version of the forest is also very wooded and jungle like, but some sections can be very watery. This kind of forest is home to aquatic creatures such as Ludroth, Gobul, and Lagiacrus. The dry areas are inhabited by the herbivores one would typically find in a forest, including Kelbi and Aptonoth, where they feed the Rathian. Like the hilly forests, the Flooded Forest has no lack of vegetation and variety of wildlife. Aptonoth graze and drink at the rivers, while noisy groups of Ludroth inhabit the deeper water, lead by a Royal Ludroth. Small pockets of Felyne and Melynx have managed to make a living here as well. There is also a small, semi-flooded cave where some monsters like to go to rest.

The Great Forest
GeneStarwindAdded by GeneStarwind
The Great Forest is very jungle like and tropical just like the Flooded Forest and rather dry like the hilly forest. Jungle and forest dwelling creatures like Velociprey, Ioprey, Genprey, Conga, Hermitaur, Hypnocatrice, Nargacuga, Espinas, and Emerald Congalala  Congalala thrive here among the thick, green foliage. Two unique features here are a large, clear lake to the north and a massive tree in the heart of the area where monsters nest and the Great Forest Peak possibly is located, right at the top, for rare subspecies of monsters including Hypnocatrice Rare Species and Espinas Rare Species to dwell.
