Lin Setzekorn: This hunting horn is inspired by Monster Hunter's adorable mascot, Poogie! This horn features a Poogie statue, in its Emperor outfit, sitting atop a large golden throne. When the hunter plays the horn, it will emulate Poogie's oinking and raise other hunters' morale!
Lin Setzekorn: I'm a huge fan of Poogie so I really wanted to design a weapon based on it. I started off with making dual blades because I play dual blades myself.
Lin Setzekorn: The dual blades weren't working out for me because it didn't capture Poogie's cuteness. However, some of my friends actually liked number 2 in the first picture and one of them mentioned that it could be a hammer. I decided to continue with that idea.
Lin Setzekorn: Number 5 was really popular in the second picture and my boyfriend told me that it would be a good hunting horn. I really liked the idea of how Poogie's oinking would raise other hunters' morale.
Lin Setzekorn: Even though I love Poogie's Memorial Stripes outfit, I gave Poogie it's Emperor's New Duds. This outfit has a clearer theme to work with and is also why I've decided to put Poogie on a throne.
Lin Setzekorn: After lots of sketching, researching hunting horns and asking for feedback, I came up with the final design of the horn Something that's sturdy, royal, but still cute. I also changed Poogie itself because I liked this silhouette more. In the end I had a lot of fun making this weapon! A big thank you to everyone who has helped me with it. Good luck to everyone who is entering!
Emperor's Speech is one of the event weapons in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. It is also one of the only two weapons in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate created by fans of the series. On April 6, 2014, Capcom-Unity and Capcom-Europe held a Weapon Design contest for giving their members a chance to design and name a weapon for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. The winner of the contest in Europe was announced at the Japan Expo held in France on July 2, 2014, and the winner in North America were announced on July 26, 2014. The Emperor's Speech is the design entry that won in Europe, the other in North America being Clockwork. The creator of Emperor's Speech was a fan named Herlinne Jelita Setzekorn, or Lin Setzekorn.
Andrew of Capcom-Unity mentioned in Reddit that he helped in creating the trailer for the Emperor's Speech, specifically in the fight scenes of the video.
