Wyverns found only in the Desert. They resemble a Plesioth, but live and "swim" in sand rather than water. They seldom appear above land, but when their hearing is disturbed...

Cephalos are small pack hunting Piscine Wyverns encountered with a leader, known as a Cephadrome.
Habitat Range[]
The Cephalos is perfectly adapted for living in the Old Desert, Desert, White Lake, Dunes, and Thunderous Sands.
Ecological Niche[]
Cephalos are ambushing and speedy pack hunters that feed on many desert creatures by attacking Apceros and Genprey from beneath. Due to being juveniles, they are preyed upon by large predators such as Brute Tigrex, Tigerstripe Zamtrios, Kuarusepusu, and Seregios. Cephalos also have to compete with their piscine wyvern relatives, the Delex, for food and territory.
Biological Adaptations[]
From spending large amounts of time swimming in the sand, their eyesight has become very poor and now they are nearly blind. Instead Cephalos listen for not only for the footsteps of prey but, also for the breathing of prey. If the sounds are extremely loud, they will be shocked out the ground and stunned by the loud noise. To stay cool in the heat of the desert, its scales hold large amounts of moisture in its body, allowing for more activity in its environment. In their fins are a paralyzing venom used to restrain prey, with only a cut from the fins. They can't breath in the sand so they have to occasionally jump out the sand in order to breath air. While swimming, however, they will swallow some of the sand as they swim. The swallowed sand is stored in a special organ in their body, that combines sand with its mucus, and saves this sand as a weapon to injure prey.
The true color of a Cephalos is blue, or rarely purple, but over time sand sticks to their bodies covering the blue coloration.
Behavior[]
Mildly aggressive, Cephalos are known for gathering in packs and hunt along side their leaders, Cephadrome. They are also known for migrating to different parts of the desert when food sources are drained.
