What are Rastas?
Rastas can be used by any Hunter over Hr 11. As long as the Rasta goes on quests with you, you'll earn Guild Donation Points (GDP), which you can use to unlock weapons and armor that the Rasta can use. You can also use the GDP for other various things like the store shown below. Items seems to be random. How the Rasta that you commission works, what they wear and what weapons they use are all based on the owner of the Rasta, and so it varies from person to person. So be careful who you make contracts with. (Note: If you do not have a subscription, but you are' over HR11, you can use the practice/trial rasta but you can't commission one) |
Registration for a Rasta
1) If you're over hr11, then go to any world that is not the "Hunter's World" (third panel) and go to the Rasta bar.
2) Go to the receptionist and talk to him. He'll tell you that while you're logged in, you need to kill or trap a Yian Kut-Ku. Then go back and talk to the guy and you'll be able to contract. If you do not talk to the guy after hunting the Kut-Ku, you won't meet the requirements. Also, if you log out before you kill the Kut-Ku and then talk to the guy, you'll have to talk to the guy again the next time you log in.
3) Successfully hunt a Yian Kut-Ku. It doesn't matter which Quest the Kut-Ku is from; what matters is just that the Kut-Ku is hunted.
4) During the winning/rewards screens, you should then receive a notice that says you've met the requirements. If you don't, then you did not meet them and you'll have to try again.
5) Go back to the Rasta Bar and talk to the guy one more time. He'll say congrats and ask for the second part of the registration process: a Hunter's Knife. It can be in your box or in your hand, but either way, once you hand it over, you'll be done with the registration part. |
Trial Rasta
After you've registered, you can either use the free Trial Rasta or commission one. The Trial Rasta is sponsored by the Rasta Bar. The Trial Rasta will only go on one quest with you after commission, but you can commission it as many times as you want. Trial Rasta's are good if you've never used one before and you'd like to see exactly what the rastas do or act during the quest. |
Commissioning the Trial Rasta
1) Go to the Rasta Bar | |
2) Inside the bar, go to the receptionist and pick this option: お試しラスタとの契約 (second option down)
Note: Upon talking to one of the NPC, a menu will pop up, as shown.
3) Once you look over the armor, weapons and pick whether you want a girl or a guy, you'll have the trial rasta.
4) The Rasta will then go with you on your next quest. |
Things to be Careful of with the Trial Rasta
|
Setting Up Your Rasta
Once you complete Rasta Registration, you can set up your own Rasta. Gender, underwear, facial appearance, hair and voice are all based on your character. The only things you can change are armor and weapons. The armor and weapons that the Rasta can use is limited by what you yourself own. Also, the armor and weapons that the Rasta is able to use is limited by level. |
How to Change Weapon and Armor on your Rasta
1) Go to a box where you can change equipment, and then choose the option to open the box. Outside of "My House" other places you can go to are: the armory item box, the changing room in your guild, the baloney town changing room.
2) From the Item Box menu pick 装備を変更する and then 装備の変更.
3) Then choose the last option ラスタ用
4) Your character image will change to your Rasta, so it's easier to choose what items to equip. In the beginning, you'll only be able to equip the hunter knife. In order to be able to use different weapons, you'll have to go through the process of unlocking new weapons and new levels.
5) Once you're satisfied, exit those menu screens and your Rasta will be equipped and ready to go. |
Commissioning and Accepting Commisions
There are two types of contracts: 救援契約 and 同行契約. When you choose 救援契約 you are agreeing to have a clone of yourself help others on their quest. 同行契約 is the option for receiving help from other players. Regardless of the options, the method of commissioning/contracting is the same, and you should remember to equip your rasta before it heads off on a quest for the first time. In other words: |
救援契約
This is for when you agree to help a friend or someone just off the street by lending them a copy of yourself. You can have a contract with up to three people. Once you commission yourself to someone, you have to wait at least one week before you can cancel it. During the actual contraction time, both you and the other person need to be in the same place. Also, both of you need to have completed the Rasta Registration process. |
1) Both you and the person who wants to commission you need to go to the same Rasta bar.
2) Once you're inside, you'll notice a bunch of two people tables. These tables are where the contracts take place. It doesn't matter which table you pick. The chair that has the seat back is where the person sits who is offering their help. The chair without a back is where the person sits who is accepting the help/rasta. Be careful to pick the right chairs.
3) In this example, you are the one who is giving help to another player, so choose the chair with a back.
4) Once you both sit down, the negotiations display will come up. On this screen you'll see the stats for your Rasta and the name of the person with whom you're doing the contract with. If there are no problems or mistakes, push the enter key. This information will then be displayed for the other person.
5) You'll get a confirmation screen. Once again, check over the information and if it's all correct, choose "yes" again
6) The "confirmation done" screen will show up. At that time, the other person will get a screen asking them to confirm the contract.
7) If the other person is in agreement with your confirmation, then the contract will be complete at this point. |
Important Points
|
Canceling a 救援契約
Unlike when you create a contract between you and another player, you do not both have to be in the same place to cancel it. However, you should at least get in contact with the other person through chat or mail to let them know ahead of time exactly what's happening, if only because it's the polite thing to do. Also, there is a possibility that differences in computer systems might create up to a half an hour lag before your friend finds out you've canceled the contract. |
1) First, go to a Rasta bar.
2) Go to the receptionist and choose the 契約中ラスタの解約 option (last option)
3) Then choose ラスタの救援契約を解約
4) The list of all the people you have contracts with will show up. Choose the name of the hunter with whom you want to terminate your contract. A confirmation screen will come up. If the information is correct, then choose "yes"
5) Another confirmation screen will come up. If you're absolutely sure you want to cancel the contract, choose yes once more.
6) The contract has now been canceled. |
Important Points
|
同行契約
This is the contract you want when you commission a rasta from someone else. You can only have one rasta commissioned to you at a time. Also, you cannot cancel this contract for at least one week after creating it. When creating the contract, both you and the other person have to be in the same place. The other person also needs to have completed their Rasta registration. |
1) Both you and your friend need to go to the same Rasta bar.
3) In this example, you are accepting the offer of help, so sit in the chair without a back.
4) Once both of you sit down, a screen will come up that displays the information of the rasta in question. If the information is fine, then push the enter button.
5) This time the contract screen will appear. If the information is still fine, then choose "yes"
6) At this point, you'll have to wait while your friend either accepts or denies the request for the rasta.
7) If he chooses yes and confirms the request, then the deal is finished and the rasta is commissioned. |
Important Points
|
Cancelling a 同行契約
Unlike when you create a contract between you and another player, you do not both have to be in the same place to cancel it. However, you should at least get in contact with the other person through chat or mail to let them know ahead of time exactly what's happening, if only because it's the polite thing to do. Also, there is a possibility that differences in computer systems might create up to a half an hour lag before your friend finds out you've canceled the contract. |
Important Points
|
Checking the Status of your Rasta Contracts
In order to check 救援契約, 同行契約, and your past contracts, you need to go to the Rasta reception desk and pick the ラスタの契約状況確認 option. Under this option there are three choices. |
①同行契約中のラスタ確認 This option lets you check your 同行契約 rasta information ②救援契約中のラスタ確認 This option lets you check your own Rasta and any 救援契約 you have with other people. ③同行・救援履歴の確認 This option shows you all the 救援契約 and 同行契約 you've had up until this point. It only lists the latest 20. |
Forced Contract Cancellation
Regardless of whether or not you have the option checked or unchecked for taking the Rasta with you on quests, if your contracted Rasta does not come with you on any quests for 4 maintenance periods, then your contract will be automatically canceled. So be careful. Situations where even though the Rasta is checked to go with you, it will still count as a no-show
Situations where if the Rasta is checked to not go with you, it will count as a no-show
|
Example
1) 4 maintenance periods pass and Hunter A does not bring their Rasta on a quest. 2) Hunter B takes his Rasta periodically on quests over 4 maintenance periods. |
Fighting With Your Rasta
Even if you commissioned a Rasta from a fellow hunter, unless you have the "companion" option checked, the Rasta will not go with you on quests. Also, even if the option is checked, if there are restrictions on the quest itself, he or she won't be able to accompany you. You can only receive GDP if the Rasta goes with you on quests. |
Important Points to Keep in Mind with the Companion Option
Signing Up For Quests: 2) If you contracted with Hunter B, and Hunter B is coming with you on the quest, your Rasta cannot come, too. 3) If there are 4 people in the group, thus a full group, the Rasta will not be able to come. Also, if the quest is set up for 1 person or two people or three people, and there are exactly that number of people signed up for the quest, then it is still a full group and the Rasta can't join. 4) If there is an open spot, and there are several Rastas among the participants, then the Rasta that joins the quest will be chosen at random. 5) If there are two people on the quest and they both have Rastas from the same person, only one Rasta can participate 6) Here are the list of quests in which a Rasta cannot participate.
|
During a Quest
1) You'll be able to easily pick out which is the Rasta because they will look different than normal hunters.
2) If the Rasta receives too much damage, they will temporarily retire from the battlefield, but after a certain amount of time passes, they will return. 3) No matter how many times a Rasta retires in quest, it has no effect on the rewards. They have an unlimited amount of returns.
4) Rastas cannot accept items from other Hunters. They also cannot give items to other Hunters. 5) Any items that a Rasta carves or gets in quest cannot be passed on to other Hunters. 6) If Hunter A enters the quest with a Rasta and then retires, then their Rasta will retire at the same time. |
Quest Rewards
1) The rewards you get at the end will be evenly distributed among everyone, including the Rasta. However, the person who owns the Rasta cannot get these items from their Rasta.
3) The Rasta won't get any Party Points (PP) if he/she goes on a Caravan quest. |
What are Guild Donation Points (GDP)?
If a Rasta goes with you on a quest, or just as long as the "companion" option is checked, then for every minute you spend in a quest you'll receive 1 point. Not only that, but the person with whom you have the contract will also get the same points. GDP are awarded based on completion of the quest and has nothing to do with whether or not you have a Hunter Life Course or a Trial Course. |
There is a special screen in the rewards screens which show how many GDP you received during that quest along with how many points you have in total. |
Situations in Which You'll receive GDP
1) If you go on a quest with a contracted Rasta, you get points. 2) If you have a 同行契約 with someone and the "companion" option is checked but because of space issues the Rasta doesn't go, you still get points. 3) If you have a 同行契約 with someone and the "companion" option is checked but Rastas are not allowed, you still get points. (Among these three options, you will see your points that you earned right away) 4) If you have a 救援契約 and the person who has your Rasta goes on a quest with the Rasta, you get points. 5) If you have a 救援契約 with someone and the "companion" option is checked but because of space issues the Rasta doesn't go, you still get points. 6) If you have a 救援契約 with someone and the "companion" option is checked but Rastas are not allowed, you still get points (Among these three options, the points you've received will not be seen right away. There is a small delay) |
However here are some ways to get the points to show up
1) If the other person changes worlds or lands and logs out. If they just log out, you won't be able to see a change. 2) You also should change worlds or lands. Or, the next time you log in, the new total will be calculated automatically. In other words, regardless of whether or not the Rasta goes on the quest, as long as the "companion" option is selected as "on" then you can collect GDP. Whether you get the sub quests or not is irrelevant as long as the quest itself is completed. On the other hand, here are situations in which you will not receive GDP. |
Situations in Which You Won't Receive GDP
|
Example
Hunter A has a contract with Hunter B.
2) Hunter B has the "companion" option checked off and leaves on a quest. 30 minutes and 20 seconds in, he wins. |
What Are GDP Good For?
You can use them to unlock weapons and armor for your Rastas. You can also use them at the "Mixing Shop" in the main town in this option: 本日の貢献P調合 for special items. You can also use them to upgrade parts of "my house" There will be other options/uses for them at a future date. |
Unlocking Rasta Abilities/Functions
Upon completion of the Rasta Registration, the first and only weapon you'll be able to equip will be a one hander. You'll also have a lot of restrictions on which one handers and what armor you can put on your Rasta. In order to unlock more weapons, different types of weapons and more armor, you'll have to unlock Rasta abilities. |
Unlocking Weapons
1) Go to the Rasta bar. | |
2) Go to the reception desk and choose ラスタ機能の解放 (fourth down)
3) Choose 「武器種の解放 (first option)
4) Choose 解放に必要な狩猟の受注 (first option)
5) The list of monsters you can hunt to unlock a weapon will then be displayed. You can choose whichever monster you want, it doesn't matter. However, in order to unlock all the weapons, you'll have to fight all the monsters on the list at some point. You cannot fight one monster over and over again to unlock everything. In other words, one monster per weapon type.
6) Once you click on the monster that you want, the monster name will turn red and say that it is "in progress." If you log out before completing the quest/hunting the monster, you'll have to come back and choose it all over again next time you log in.
7) From here, go on a quest where you can hunt the monster you picked. There are no restrictions on what specific quest. Also, the people in your party do not also have to be hunting the monster to unlock Rasta weapons for it to count for you.
8) Once you kill or capture the monster and you progress to the winning screens, you should get notification that you met the requirements for the Rasta.
9) Go back to the Rasta bar, go to the receptionist and once again: 1) ラスタ機能の解放 2) 武器種の解放. This time, however, choose 解放する武器種の選択 (second option)
10) You'll now be able to unlock one new weapon type. Choose whichever one you'd like.
Note: The following Selections are:
11) You have successfully unlocked a new weapon type. You are now able to choose weapons for your Rasta from whatever is available. Currently all the weapon types are available to unlock. |
Unlocking Weapon and Armor Levels
The equipment that your Rasta can use is dependent on the levels that you have unlocked. In order to unlock levels, you need to use the GDP that you get from taking your Rasta on quests with you. |
Regarding Exactly What Equipment You Can Use
The equipment you can use on your rasta is dependent on rarity level as well as the individual level of your own Rasta. Of course, these levels can be increased when you complete certain requirements, as previously stated. |
Checking Available Equipment
The equipment that you unlock baesd on level is available to look at in the rasta bar. 1) Go to the bar. When you enter, go towards the right hand corner in the back. You'll see a board. This is the Rasta board. |
① Choose whether you want to look at weapons or armor 防具 = armor 武器 = weapons ② Specify what exactly you want to look at. For armor, this will be body parts. For weapons this will be the types of weapons. Options for weapons: 「片手剣」「双剣」「大剣」「太刀」「ハンマー」「狩猟笛」「ランス」「ガンランス」「ライトボウガン」「ヘビィボウガン」「弓」 Options for armor: 「頭」「胴」「腕」「腰」「脚」 ③ Choose the level that you want to look at. ④ Choose the page number. For some levels, there will be multiple pages. For others, there might only be one. ⑤ This is where the names of the equipment will be listed. Names in gray have not yet been unlocked. Names in black are available to use, but you don't own them. Names in light blue are available and you own them. |
