The Desert Canyons (unofficial name) is a new area being introduced in Monster Hunter Frontier Version 4.0. Its existence was revealed on November 14th, 2008. It is possible that this area will be introduced in Monster Hunter 3.

The Desert Canyons feature several dry, wide open areas with sparse cacti, and caves featuring underground lakes. So far, five boss monsters inhabiting this area have been revealed: Orange Espinas, Rajang, Tigrex, Pariapuria, and Berukyurosu.
