- Order: Shell Insect
- Suborder: Hario
- Family: Bnahabra
Bnahabras can survive in any known environment. These environments include the Deserted Island, Flooded Forest, Sandy Plains, Tundra, Volcano, Misty Peaks, Ancestral Steppe, Sunken Hollow, Primal Forest, Frozen Seaway, Volcanic Hollow, Heaven's Mount, Everwood, Dunes, and Jurassic Frontier.
Bnahabra are quite low in the food chain. They serve as food for many monsters, including the Jade Barroth and Volvidon. Their larvae feed on carrion, but it is unknown what the adults eat. It is possible the adults eat parts of the carrion, and they do attack hunters, so they may hunt creatures bigger than themselves.
Bnahabra's most recognizable adaptation is multiple subspecies per climate, including extremes like the scorching Volcano and the freezing Tundra. Bnahabra tend to travel in swarms, and are led by queens, identical to other Bnahabras except for their size. A queen can be identified by their Queen's Needle, much like a Vespoid Queen. Bnahabras have a poisonous stinger that injects a powerful neurotoxin into the bloodstream of foes, including hunters, temporarily paralyzing them. They are remarkable fliers, dodging a hunter's attacks with ease.
These Neopterons wait almost lifeless on ledges, ready to attack hunters or anything that disturbs them. Much like moths, they are attracted to light and heat, such as the flame of a torch. They will sometimes fly past enemies without attacking, most likely to observe or possibly taunt them. Because of their weak attack power, they will frequently paralyze an adversary to make up for this. They are observed laying their eggs on carrion, though it is unknown if this is limited to the Bnahabra titled as queens.
