In-Game Information[]

MH3-Baggi Icon

Highly intelligent, carnivorous Bird Wyverns that hunt in packs. Noted for their blue scales and sharp glare. Baggi are feared for their ability to release a tranquillising fluid; it can knock out even humans for several seconds.

Taxonomy[]

  • Order: Saurischia
  • Suborder: Bird Feet
  • Infraorder: Runner Wyvern
  • Superfamily: Dog Wyvern
  • Family: Baggi

Baggi are Bird Wyverns closely related to the Jaggi, Wroggi, and Maccao. Once fully grown, male Baggi become Great Baggi.

Habitat Range[]

Unlike Jaggi, which live only in temperate and desert climates, Baggi are adapted to the frigid climate of the Tundra. Though they have been spotted in some temperate zones.

Ecological Niche[]

Being the small monsters that they are, Baggi are constantly in danger of being preyed upon by large monsters, such as Barioth, Glacial Agnaktor, Tigrex and Deviljho. They commonly feed on Popo, hunting in packs lead by a Great Baggi to bring them down. They also occasionally feed on Giggi. Unfortunately, fully grown Giggi, or Gigginox, are extremely protective of their offspring, and also eat any Baggi wandering through its territory.

Biological Adaptations[]

The average size for a Baggi is 389.4cm. Baggi are similar to the temperate Jaggi, but replace their trademark barbed tail with a fan-like one. They are commonly seen hunting in packs. They also have special organs that produce sleep-inducing materials which, when mixed with saliva, can tranquilize most anything, meaning an easy meal. Their blue scales help them to blend in with the icy terrain and also to ensure the success of a sneak attack on prey.

Behavior[]

Being highly intelligent pack hunters, Baggi will quickly dispose of any intruders in their territory.
